Fortingall
Fortingall, Aberfeldy, Perthshire, PH15 2NQ
The Fortingall Hotel offers 21st century comfort and service whilst retaining much of its Victorian style and heritage. The historic building is one of the foremost examples of this type of building amongst Scottish hotels. It is quiet and elegant and the rooms are deeply comfortable, each individually furnished using local Estate tweed to create an atmosphere that is both traditional but with a contemporary feel. The Arts and Crafts Dining Room is decorated with muted tweeds and faces south and west with a view over the quaint thatched cottages and fields towards Drummond Hill. It has an open fire for winter evenings.
The kitchen creates modern cuisine with a hint of traditional. Each dish is tailor-made and to the highest standard, sourcing the best possible ingredients. The kitchen work closely with Glenlyon Estate who supply the venison, lamb and wild game birds as well as the organic seasonal vegetables, herbs and summer fruits.
The Fortingall Hotel is the perfect base amongst Scottish hotels for a day’s fishing, shooting, stalking or a Highland Safari package. For those looking for something less active there are many local attractions, including nearby Aberfeldy and the famous ‘Birks of Aberfeldy’ with the spectacular Falls of Moness, Castle Menzies, The Crannog on Loch Tay, and Dewar’s World of Whisky.
