Coul House Hotel
Coul House Hotel, Contin, By Strathpeffer, Ross-shire, IV14 9ES
Built in 1821 as a shooting lodge in the heart of the Highlands for Sir George Stuart Mackenzie, now a charming country house hotel under the new ownership of experienced hoteliers, Stuart and Susannah Macpherson. The hotel overlooks the Strathconon valley and the magnificent mountains beyond. Adjacent is the Achilty Forest and Roggie Falls where in season you can watch the salmon leaping. Few hotels in Scotland can have such stunning local scenery.
The Dining Room offers contemporary gourmet meals with an imaginative menu, often featuring Scottish Game, local Salmon and of course homemade breads, pastries and delightful desserts.
We can organise many activities for you such as fly-fishing, clay pigeon shooting, guided mountain walks, pony trekking, mountain biking, golfing either on our 9 hole pitch & putt, or one of the nearby challenging courses such as Royal Dornoch or Nairn.
Coul House is one of the most wonderful hotels in Scotland to indulge oneself and rediscover the Highlands of Scotland.
Other awards include the Scottish Association of Country Sports Game Cookery Award.
