The atmosphere we create is one of relaxed elegance where friendly staff are attentive & efficient yet not too formal. Our 11 bedrooms and suites are all uniquely designed to soothe your mind before enjoying a superb dinner in our romantic candlelit restaurant.
Don't forget we also offer luxury self catering accommodation in our 2 luxury holiday cottages to rent, Bramble Cottage and The Old Smithy, for those who would like a little more independence but with the flexibility of having hotel facilities right next door. The best of both worlds.
Each of the eleven individually styled luxury bedrooms and suites have all recently been redecorated and convey a warm and inviting style of their own. Each room is individually decorated with designer fabrics and wallpapers from such labels as Jane Churchill, Zoffany, Colfax and Fowler and Designers Guild, with styles varying from 'country house' to something a little more 'boutique'. Most of the rooms have stunning views of Loch Linnhe with the Morvern mountains behind.
All rooms have satellite television, DVD and CD players, with a choice of over 130 DVD's to choose from our extensive library. All rooms also have modern iPod docks. Free Wi- Fi access is available throughout the hotel including all bedrooms. All rooms are of course, en-suite with modern bathrooms with marble tops.
The Warmth of the Welcome - when you first arrive at Airds you will be guaranteed a very warm welcome, a warmth that continues throughout your stay.
The Food - with it's international reputation gained over many years, The Airds has long been regarded as one of the best restaurants in Scotland and has held 3 Rosettes consistently for over 27 years. We work closely with local suppliers to ensure we get first pick of the very best ingredients. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can all be enjoyed in our restaurant with fantastic lich views. Why not book one of our special Gourmet Packages and see for yourself. We are also open to non-residents.
The Scenery - the location of The Airds is unrivalled in terms of views, overlooking Loch Linnhe and the Morvern mountains. Guests return for that very view year after year and say that the minute they arrive, the atmosphere and views are what truly make them relax. Our westerly outlook means that spectacular sunsets can be enjoyed from our restaurant and garden. We are also located perfectly for day trips to Oban, the Isle of Mull, and Glencoe.
The area surrounding Port Appin is typical Argyll landscape. Mountains cascade down to beautiful lochs offering sweeping wide views. The population is sparse so remoteness and solitude are pretty much guaranteed and livestock farming is the main means of a livelihood.
Whilst the spectacular scenery is perhaps the greatest single reason to come to the area, history is also very prominent. There are many castles in the area of varying ages, the Robert Louis Stevenson novel ‘Kidnapped’ is based on a true story set in the area and there is the famous Jacobite Rebellion of 1745 for those interested in history.
